One of New York’s biggest bicycle advocacy groups is looking for volunteers to perform outreach to the public during the three Summer Street events to be held this August.
The first such event, where Park Avenue will be closed for bicycles, pedestrians and accessible, hand-powered vehicles, is this Saturday August 1. Volunteers can work at one or all three of the Summer Street festivities.
“This is a great opportunity to make contact with people who are new to the idea that streets can be designed with people in mind,” said a spokesperson for the group Transportation Alternatives. “Let’s get out there and get in touch with our newest activists!”
